Emotional Support Animals

Animals are kind, loving, and very intelligence. This Thanksgiving season I want to give thanks to my loving fur friends. And to say Rest In Peace to our beloved cat Angel whom we adopted during 2020 after she was abandoned and showed up on our front porch half dead and starving.

I absolutely love my dog Diesel and cat Angel. I really feel like he rescued me from seasonal affective disorder and my struggle with sugar addiction and emotional eating. He is a faithful, loving, and loyal companion who is so full of life and joy. He is EVERYONE'S best friend. We cannot take him anywhere without all of the kids in the neighborhood coming to play with him or people complimenting on how cute he is.

🐶There are so many benefits of an Emotional Support Animal for your Self-Care

1️⃣They promote exercise and movement. Many animals need play! This makes you get out of your own way, boosts your mood, and gives you an excuse to let your inner child loose!

2️⃣Petting an animal has been scientifically proven to lower stress levels, cortisol in the bloodstream, heart-rate, and breath-rate. I believe that's why my mood has improved during the winter months when I struggle the most with depression. I'm a Florida Girl by birth. After moving from Panama City Florida to Atlanta, Georgia I developed seasonal affective disorders Diesel has been a blessing for my recovery.

3️⃣They do not judge! You can let your hair down and be as comfortable as possible. They do not care how you look, they don't judge you, and they don't gossip!

🐶It's so beautiful to come home and have someone who is genuinely excited and happy to see you, no performing for love or shrinking to making him comfortable!

Angel was in our life for only a short time. But she was such a blessing. I hate that she was abandoned during the Pandemic but she was such a nice edition and blessing to our family. She died on Oct 24, 2022. We believe she was hit by a car. She came home in pain late that night and couldn't move, didn't blink, and died the next morning before we could take her to the vet. She will be truly missed. But never forgotten. We love you Angel! Rest In Peace.
