Have you ever found yourself wondering, "Why does my vagina tear every time I have sex?" If this question has crossed your mind, you're not alone. Recurrent fissuring of the posterior fourchette, also known as the perineum splitting, can be a distressing and uncomfortable experience for many individuals. Let's delve into this often overlooked topic to shed light on the causes behind this perplexing phenomenon.
The Perils of Recurrent Fissuring: A Personal Story
As a woman, I have faced the daunting reality of my vagina tearing each time I engage in intercourse. The sensation of pain and discomfort is not only physical but also emotional. The repeated fissures at the posterior fourchette have left me feeling frustrated and seeking answers. It's a distressing cycle that can take a toll on one's confidence and intimate relationships but I was diagnoised with vaginal atropy at the age of 28, a rare condition for a young mom. However, the odds were against me.
First I was a trucker wife, this ment I was not having sex often.
Second, when I did have sex I just happen to get pregnant. After my third pregnacy and third c-sesction my estrogen was low and I was diganosis with vaginal atrophy, which was rare for a 28 year old and I couldn't afford the $5,000 medicine I needed per month so I kinda just dealt with it because my insurance didn't pay for it.
Third, after my four pregnancy and fourth c-section I got my tubes tied and the condition got worse and I had to find ways to cope and manage the painful sex, dry vagaina symptoms, and splitting during pentration. I felt like I was in menopause although I was too young to expereincing these issues.
Understanding the Anatomy: What Causes Recurrent Fissuring of the Posterior Fourchette
The posterior fourchette is a sensitive area located at the bottom end of the vaginal opening. Fissures in this region can occur due to various reasons, including:
Insufficient Lubrication : Inadequate natural lubrication during sexual activity can lead to friction and trauma, resulting in fissures.
Skin Conditions : Certain skin conditions like eczema or psoriasis can make the skin more vulnerable to tearing.
Trauma from Rough Sex : Aggressive or rough sexual activities can cause micro-tears that can develop into recurrent fissures.
Infections : Yeast infections or sexually transmitted infections can weaken the skin in the genital area, making it more prone to tearing.
The Perineum Splitting: A Silent Concern
The perineum, the area between the vaginal opening and the anus, is another common site for fissures. Like the posterior fourchette, the causes of perineum splitting can vary but often include:
Childbirth Trauma : The perineum can undergo significant trauma during childbirth, resulting in tears or fissures.
Scar Tissue : Previous perineal tears that have healed may leave behind scar tissue that is prone to tearing.
Muscle Tension : Tight pelvic floor muscles can put undue pressure on the perineum, increasing the risk of splitting.
Hormonal Changes : Fluctuations in hormone levels can affect the elasticity and strength of the perineal skin.
Seeking Help: Tips for Managing Recurrent Fissures
If you're experiencing recurrent fissuring of the posterior fourchette or perineum, it's essential to seek medical advice. Here are some tips to help manage and prevent further tearing:
Use Lubrication : Enhance natural lubrication or use water-based lubricants during sexual activities to reduce friction.
Practice Gentle Sex : Communicate with your partner about the importance of gentleness and avoiding rough sex.
Maintain Good Hygiene : Keep the genital area clean and dry to prevent infections that can weaken the skin.
Pelvic Floor Therapy : Consider pelvic floor physical therapy to address muscle tension and improve pelvic floor function.
Routine of New Habits...Â
In my on recovery which I still manage today, I've made some lifestyle changes and diet changes to cope.
I have found that an vaginal suppositories with vitamins created by a Ob-Gyn helps to 'beef up' the skin of the vulva and make it less fragile. I've use NeuEve suppositories, cream for a couple of years now.Â
NeuEve is free from hormones, estrogen, gluten, soy, herbs like black cohosh or wild yam, preservatives, and GMOs. It also contains no boric acid, petrochemicals, parabens, BHT, T.E.A, M.E.A, urea, glycols, or PEGs. Additionally, NeuEve is cruelty-free and contains no animal products. All-natural food grade ingredients : Organic palm oil*, organic coconut oil, organic beeswax, organic tapioca starch, organic potato starch, organic evening primrose oil, organic sea buckthorn fruit oil, organic rose essential oil, organic orange oil, organic vitamin E (d-α tocopherol), and a customized blend of nutrients.
I've had an anal fissure and the surgery to go with it in the past therefore I've already been used to eating for digestive health. What I've found works best for the anus is to keep regular (no straining during bowel movements) and avoiding loose stools.
I never wipe. I blot gently for urine. I gently wipe only the rectum using baby wipes for sensitive skin. I eat Healthy Life and sourdough bread, greek yogurt and berries, oatmeal with pecans and berries, and beans and rice for fiber and to promote digestive health.
As a nutritionist I created a diet plan that constant of a anti-inflammatory diet and combination with a low sugar lifestyle: clean organic meat, low gluten, low dairy, and low sugar. Exercise and lots of water are also very helpful I drink 1-2 liters of water daily one of those liters is green superfood powder and colleague.Â
I add 1/2 cup of baking soda, 1 cup shea butter Epsom salt, a splash of Avon Skin So Soft Oil, and Avon sensitive skin bubble bath to my bath at night. I am a Avon Rep if you seek to purchase any products please support my Avon store all proceed goes to my outreach to help displaced families in crisis and we give scholarships to senior each year to help with college expense such as books, healthy food, and toiletries, etc. Shop Avon here.
When or if I expereince any splitting after pentration I use AD & D ointment to protect the whole area from urine and promote skin healing.
I used coconut oil for vagina lubrication I've found this to work better than K-Y Jelly, for me I split less.
